Common Questions
What exactly is an EPC?
An Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rates a property's energy efficiency from A (most efficient) to G (least efficient). It is a legal requirement in the UK whenever a property is built, sold, or rented, and is valid for 10 years.
How long does the assessment take?
A typical domestic EPC assessment takes between 30 and 45 minutes onsite, depending on the size and complexity of your home. Richard will need to access all rooms, the boiler, and the loft if applicable.
When will I receive my certificate?
Your EPC is usually lodged and sent to you electronically within 24 hours of the site visit. You will receive a digital link to the official register and a PDF copy for your records.
What access do you need during the visit?
We need to see all internal rooms, the heating system (boiler/cylinder), any hot water tanks, and ideally the loft space to check insulation. We also need to see electric and gas meters.
